About Us

This is Daren, Co-Owner of Woodpecker Cycle Co. I would like to introduce myself and Bruce and tell you a bit bout the how and more importantly why we're doing this. For starters, we are in two locations. Bruce is in Iowa and I am in Washington.  We dedicate most of our free time to building frames out of our garages when not at our full-time jobs.

Onto the bikes. Both Bruce and I started out using bikes as tools to get outside. Bikepacking blew up and we immediately fell in love with the idea of spending long hours on the bike with silly amounts of camping gear. We have done trips across Kansas on fat bikes and loops around Lake Tahoe on buff singletrack. We would spend months choosing the perfect frame and parts for the excursion. This is what lead both of us to wanting to build frames, chasing the perfect geo to go farther and have more fun.
